Department of Neurophysiotherapy

Neurophysiotherapy is a specialized area of physiotherapy focused on the treatment and rehabilitation of individuals with neurological disorders. At college, our Neurophysiotherapy program is designed to prepare students to work with patients who have conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, and nervous system, such as stroke, spinal cord injuries, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, and cerebral palsy.

Program Objectives

The Neurophysiotherapy program aims to:

  • Provide a thorough understanding of the anatomy, physiology, and pathology of the nervous system.
  • Develop advanced skills in neurological assessment, including the evaluation of motor control, balance, coordination, and sensory function.
  • Teach evidence-based interventions tailored to improve function, mobility, and quality of life for individuals with neurological conditions.
  • Foster an understanding of neuroplasticity and its role in rehabilitation.
  • Encourage the development of communication skills and a patient-centered approach to care, particularly when working with individuals with complex needs.
