Department of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy

Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy is a specialized branch of physiotherapy that focuses on the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of disorders related to muscles, bones, joints, and associated soft tissues. At college, our Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy program is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to address a wide range of conditions affecting the musculoskeletal system, from acute injuries to chronic pain syndromes.

Program Objectives

The Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy program aims to:

  • Provide students with a deep understanding of the anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics of the musculoskeletal system.
  • Develop clinical reasoning and diagnostic skills to accurately assess and treat musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Teach evidence-based treatment techniques, including manual therapy, exercise prescription, and therapeutic modalities.
  • Foster an understanding of pain mechanisms and pain management strategies.
  • Encourage the development of communication skills and a patient-centered approach to care.
