Department of Kinesiotherapy & Physical Diagnosis
Kinesiotherapy & Physical Diagnosis is a specialized area within physiotherapy that focuses on the application of therapeutic exercise (kinesiotherapy) and the clinical evaluation of physical function (physical diagnosis) to prevent, manage, and rehabilitate physical impairments and disabilities. At college, our Kinesiotherapy & Physical Diagnosis program is designed to provide students with a deep understanding of human movement, as well as the skills needed to assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions.
Program Objectives
The Kinesiotherapy & Physical Diagnosis program aims to:
- Develop an in-depth understanding of biomechanics, kinesiology, and the physiological responses to exercise.
- Equip students with advanced skills in physical diagnosis, including the assessment of movement, posture, muscle strength, and joint function.
- Teach evidence-based kinesiotherapy techniques to restore and enhance physical function, reduce pain, and prevent injury.
- Foster the development of clinical reasoning and diagnostic skills for creating individualized treatment plans based on comprehensive physical assessments.
- Encourage a holistic, patient-centered approach to care, integrating kinesiotherapy into the overall management of health and well-being.
